Lester Macklin Jr. , age 32, passed away on December 16, 2025, in Montgomery, Alabama. Born on March 24, 1993, in Detroit, Michigan, Lester brought light and laughter into the lives of all who knew him.

A devoted father, Lester leaves behind his three beloved daughters: Jalea Nyera Macklin, Janylia Noelle Macklin, and Justice Neveah Macklin. His love for them was boundless—he gave them everything he had and more. His strength and reliability were constants in their lives, and his memory will live on through them. His late wife, Tataina, they shared 3 beautiful daughters. The love between the family is molded on strength, laughter's, and courage.

Lester was the cherished son of Shelissa Burnett and Lester Macklin. He held a deep love for both of his parents and was known as the son they could always count on—resourceful, dependable, and wise beyond his years. He was also a treasured grandson to Laureen Burnett, Johnny White, and to Virginia and Frank Sr., whose influence helped shape the man he became.

Family meant everything to Lester. He shared an unbreakable bond with his eight siblings on his mother’s side: Marcus Matthews, O'Misha Matthews, Michael Matthews, O'Lissa Burnett, Shelithia Burnett, Marquise Burnett, Jaquale Burnett, and KaMya Burnett. As a big brother and mentor, he taught his younger brothers survival skills with unwavering dedication and reminded his sisters to always stay strong and guarded. His presence was a guiding force in their lives—protective yet playful—and he loved each of them deeply. A sister on his fathers side Zhani Becker, that he loved and would have countless laughs and memories with, a partner in crime.

Lester’s personality was magnetic. He was loving, caring, kind-hearted, charismatic—and undeniably hilarious. A natural comedian and storyteller, he could lift spirits with just a few words or a well-timed joke. He had an uncanny ability to make something out of nothing—a true testament to his resilience and creativity.

He lived life with adventure in his heart. Whether climbing anything he could find (earning him the nickname “the neighborhood Spiderman”), riding bikes through the streets of Detroit or Montgomery, or simply walking for miles with purpose or peace in mind—Lester embraced movement as freedom. He also found joy in rapping freestyle verses inspired by favorite artists like T.I., Lil Wayne, and Rich Homie Quan. Music pulsed through him; it was one of many ways he expressed himself boldly.

Dancing came naturally to him too—another outlet for his vibrant energy—and when it came time to work hard or help others out without hesitation, Lester never faltered. If he had it—you had it. That was just who he was: generous to the core.

Rooted in Christian faith throughout his life journey, Lester carried spiritual strength that matched his physical courage. He faced life’s challenges head-on with bravery and determination that inspired those around him.

Lester Macklin’s legacy is one of love—for family above all else—and of laughter that echoed wherever he went. His strength carried others when they couldn’t carry themselves; his stories brought joy even during hard times; his presence made people feel safe.

May the memory of Lester bring comfort to those who knew him best—and may we all carry forward the lessons he lived by: be brave; be kind; give freely; love deeply; laugh often.
