Enjoyed his relationship with talented tradesmen in the home building business. Enjoyed spending time with his wife June whom he opened and ran an cliché antique store, "Birds Happy Hollow within the Canton, Texas first Monday trade days.

Proud to do his part in service to his country, Les was commissioned February 16, 1959 in the Navy and served for 8 years. Places stationed during his military career included Pensacola, FL., San Diego, CA., Mountain View, CA., China Lake, CA., and overseas in Japan.

Upon returning to civilian life Les joined Delta Airlines in 1967. He was stationed a a pilot in Dallas/Fort Worth after 1 year based in Chicago. Les remained with the airlines until his retirement, at the rank of Captain.

On December 30, 1960 Lester married Wanda June Coker in Memphis, Tennessee. They made their home in several places including Memphis, San Diego, Mountain View, China Lake all in California and Atsugi Japan while in the Navy. During his career with Delta Airlines they lived in Itasca, Illinois and then in 1968 moved to Arlington, Texas where they remained.
