Tinkering, fishing, watching Westerns, reading, spending time with family
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our father, Lester (Duckie) Thomas Cobb, who left us to join the love of his life in heaven, Nina Cobb, on May 18, 2024, at the age of 90. He was born January 30, 1934, in Selma, AL, to Alford and Martha Cobb. Our father was a proud veteran of the Korean War. He loved his family, westerns, and tinkering. Anyone who spent time with him knows what a character he could be. He could fix or build anything! He was employed by RL Zeigler Company for 27 years, before leaving to start his own business, The Handyman. He leaves behind his sisters Betty (Jim) Padgett, and Louise Barret; daughters Robin (Jon) Carter and Tracy Fowler; sons Greg Cobb and Rodney Cobb; grandchildren Zachary (Gabby) Fowler, Kristin Reed, Chad (Sarah) Carter; Wade (Amy) Carter; and Todd (Maria) Carter; and 13 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in honor of our father at 2:00 PM on June 15, 2024,, at Elkdale Baptist Church, Selma, AL. There will be no graveside service.
We'll plant real trees for you in Lester (Duckie)'s memory and display your contribution forever.
