Leslie Ann Squire, born on April 30, 1967, in Barstow, California, passed away on August 5, 2024, in Bakersfield, California. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, cherished by her family and friends.
Leslie's life was filled with love and joy, particularly when it came to her three children: Chad Squire, his wife Anna and their children Alayna, Austyn, Ava, and August Squire; Matt Joseph, his wife Michelle, and their sons Tyler and Jackson Joseph; and Dream Weaver-Hummel, her husband Craig, and their daughter Penelope Hummel. Leslie found immense fulfillment in being a mom and grandmother, and nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her family, especially her beloved granddaughter Penelope.
A strong and independent woman, Leslie overcame many challenges, proudly staying sober for the last seven years of her life. She was known for her nurturing spirit, often taking care of stray cats, and she enjoyed going to the beach, reading, and watching her favorite shows like The Walking Dead. Leslie's playful side was evident in her self-deprecating humor about her driving skills and her memorable encounters with bears.
Leslie worked as a General Manager at both Burger King and Applebee's, where she made lasting impacts on her colleagues and customers alike. She was an active participant in her community and found a supportive family at a sober living home run by Minnie Marvels, keeping connections with many individuals from that time.
Survived by her father, Robert Squire, and his wife Geraldine, her mother, Virginia Carlsen, sister Kellie Squire, brother Jeffrey Joseph, along with numerous nieces and nephews, Leslie's legacy of love will continue to resonate through all who knew her.
Leslie had a deep belief in spirituality and the importance of doing the right thing, which guided her actions throughout her life. She found joy in her favorite foods, including chocolate, Panda Express, and tri-tip sandwiches from Firestone, and her spirit will be remembered fondly by all whose lives she touched.
We'll plant real trees for you in Leslie's memory and display your contribution forever.
