With great sorrow and deep love, the family of Lasean Lionel Ruffin announces his passing. Lasean left this world far too soon, leaving behind an unwavering love in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Lasean was born on February 19, 1982 in Portland, Oregon, to Glenn Lewis and Rita Ruffin. He was raised in Bellevue, Washington, where he developed the vibrant spirit, determination, and bold personality that would define his life. Even as a child, Lasean was known for his defiant streak-strong-willed, fearless, and always ready to stand his ground. That fiery energy grew into resilience and confidence that carried him through adulthood.
He later graduated from Kent-Meridian High School, forming friendships and memories that remained with him throughout the years. Throughout his adult life, Lasean explored many career paths, each allowing him to learn, grow, and connect with others. He eventually found his professional home at Amazon, where his dedication and strong work ethic were widely admired.
Lasean was a devoted father to his two sons, Desean and Makhi Ruffin, who were the pride and joy of his life. He poured his heart into guiding them, supporting them, and showing them what it meant to be strong, kind, and true to oneself.
His presence filled every room with energy and warmth. His quick wit, strong personality, and fearless approach to life made him truly unforgettable.
He is survived by his loving mother, Rita Ruffin, whose bond with him was built on resilience and unconditional love. Lasean also leaves behind his sister, Latisha Ruffin, and brother, Corey Ruffin, who will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and unbreakable sibling connection they shared. He is lovingly remembered by his longtime partner, Arasil, and her daughter, Angela, both of whom shared a deep and meaningful part of his life and held a special place in his heart.
In addition, he leaves behind his father, Glenn Lewis; his maternal grandfather, Joe Ruffin; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who loved him deeply and will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Lasean was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Louis Jean Barr, and his paternal grandparents, Walter and Mary Lewis.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Lasean's spirit lives on through his family, his children, and every life he touched. His memory will continue to guide us, inspire us, and remind us of the enduring power of love and family.
We'll plant real trees for you in Lesean's memory and display your contribution forever.
All condolences, notes and wishes in this book of memories.
