Obituary

Leota Jackson Lasater, affectionately known as Memaw, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, at the age of 101. She was born on September 7, 1923, in Haslet, Texas, to Ben and Ferrie Jackson

Leota dedicated 24 years of her career to the First National Bank and also worked at the Goodwill Corporate office, where she made many lasting friendships. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, particularly watching her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren grow up. She was a proud supporter of her local Texas sports teams and cherished every moment spent traveling and creating memories with her loved ones.

Leota was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husbands, RJ Forester and Robby Lasater, her son Jim Forester, and her grandson Jimmy Ray Forester. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Barbara Forester, her grandchildren, Derinda Nickel (Steve) and Dedrea Franklin (Rob), and her great grandchildren: Baillie Adams (Jerome), Christian Franklin, Kennedee Coolbaugh (Tyler), Britten Nickel, Braelyn Nickel, Ryleigh Forester, Hattie Lasater.and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Leota lived by the motto, "If you need help, ask God. If you don’t need a thing, then thank God," and her unwavering faith and dedication to her family were her proudest accomplishments. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
