Lena Gabriela Bernal, 39 of Kent, WA was called home on February 9, 2026. Lena was born November 18,1986 in El Paso, Texas to Bridget Louise Rogers Farrow and Placido Bernal, both preceded her in death.

Lena was known for her outgoing and friendly nature - a woman whose laughter could light up a room and whose compassion touched everyone she met. Lena had a gift for making others feel seen and valued.  Her Warmth and openness made her a friend to many, and she carried a big heart that extended far beyond her own family. Lena was never afraid to be the butt of a joke - living her life with laughter and a smile.

Lena was determined to continue her education, overcoming many obstacles to reach her goals. Her biggest passion began when she started working Nami, a non profit to help those experiencing homelessness and addiction. As a person who dealt with both she was not shy to share her experience and be an anchor to those going through it. Helping them see that there was light at the end for everyone. 

Lenas memory and legacy will be carried on by those left behind:  her five children: Alicia Chavez, Asia Chavez, Luisana Chavez, Gabriel Bernal, Gabriela Bernal, a brother Lionel Bernal, sister Jaymi Powell,  nephew Deangelo Nolan, A slew of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and countless friends.
