Lee Roy Turner, affectionately known as Brother Lee, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ. He was born on September 19, 1929, in Milwaukee, WI.

Brother Lee served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War and was discharged with great distinction on December 11, 1954. His dedication and service to his country were remarkable.

Lee Roy Turner was a man of many passions. He found solace and joy in gardening, where he nurtured beautiful plants and flowers. He also had a deep love for fishing and hunting, spending countless hours immersed in nature. But above all, Lee Roy was a devoted family man, cherishing his role as a father and a grandfather.

His gentle nature and unconditional love made him a superpower in his family's eyes. He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Doris Thornton, and their three children, Michael, Stevie, and Marcus Turner. Lee Roy also leaves a lasting legacy through his grandchildren, Joslyn (Rashad) Junior, Michael Turner Jr, Farricia Turner, and Tashira Turner.

In addition to his personal achievements, Lee Roy's commitment to his community was truly admirable. Following his retirement, he became a faithful and dutiful janitor at his church, a role he held for many years. Lee Roy's impact extended beyond the church doors, as he spent over two decades providing free meals to the homeless and veterans every weekend. His humble leadership and service set an example for everyone around him.

Lee Roy Turner will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering faith, and selflessness. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Doris, his children, grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Rest in peace, Brother Lee. Your legacy of love and service will continue to inspire us all.
