Lee Michael Ellis, 49, husband to David Zey and father to Tierra & JP, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 in Prairie Village, Kansas.
Born in Clinton, MO, he was the son of Paul David Ellis, Jr. and estranged mother, Syble Marie McGinnis.
He received his education from DeVry University and worked at OptumRx as a business analyst. He loved photography, swimming, traveling, camping, Harry Potter, music, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He was an excellent cook and frequently hosted social gatherings at his home. He often talked about his travels all over America with his favorite place being anywhere with a good food scene. He was a kind soul who would find something in common with anyone who crossed his path and had a huge support system, even in his final days.
Surviving Lee is his husband, David Zey; beloved fur babies, Taco and Bezelbub; Father, Paul David Ellis Jr.; Step-sister, Tabitha; Grandma, Shirley Ellis; adopted family - Tierra & JP; aunts and uncles; cousins; nieces and nephews; and many, many, loving and supportive friends and family from all over the world.
There will be a private visitation happening on Sunday, December 1, 2024 in the Overland Park area. Invitations will be communicated to those who Lee would want present.
Additionally, a Celebration of Life party will be happening after the new year.
