Obituary

Lawrence Elmore, affectionately known as Larry,Dad, and GPL, passed away on January 24, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on April 18, 1946, in New York, NY. Larry graduated from Thomas Edison HS, before heading to play basketball at the University of Nebraska. He then spent his final years in Garden Grove, CA, surrounded by family and friends who cherished him deeply.

Larry and Tina Elmore shared 31 years of marriage and 39 years together, building a life filled with love and devotion. They were inseparable, finding joy in each other’s company every day. Their time together included everything from relaxing beach trips to running errands, cozy nights watching movies, football, and shows like 24 and Designated Survivor

Tina was a constant source of strength for Larry. Always taking great care of him, filling his life with happiness. Their life together was a beautiful blend of shared moments, love, and lasting memories.

Larry is survived by his three children from his marriage to Geri:

Lora Rowe of New York, mother to Ryan

Lance Elmore, Daughter in law Christina, father to Ashley, Dallas, Jacquelyn, Courtney, Jaziah, Kaden, and Quincy

Toby Elmore of New York, Daughter in law Lisa, father to Kieran (with wife Danielle), Tyler (with Fiance’ Siobhan), Logan, Ruth, and Camden

He is also survived by two daughters from his union with Jamie:

Britney McAleer of California, (with partner Daniel), mother to DJ.

Whitney McAleer of California, mother to Brixton.

They also cherished spending time with Tina’s Daughter Dana, her husband Tom, as well as grandchildren, Aaron and Claire.

As a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, Larry’s legacy lives on through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Zahara, Zaveon, Piper, ZaNeya, Atlas, Charleigh, Jack, and MacKinnon, all of whom will carry his memory and miss him dearly.

Known for his endless energy and bright personality, Larry found joy in simple pleasures: spending quality time with loved ones, capturing moments with his camera, and enjoying his favorite foods, including Al's Chinese egg rolls and Fat Burger. He cherished his time at Laguna Beach and spoke often of trips with Tina to Hawaii, relishing every moment spent with family,  friends or at home with Tina.

A jack of all trades, Larry held various professions throughout his life, including roles at American Airlines, bodyguard, security, truck driver, and photographer. He was known to have a reassuring presence, always ready with a smile and a helping hand.

Larry’s impact on those around him was profound. He was a protector, a hard worker, and a forever optimist who radiated love and positivity. His infectious smile and generous spirit brought joy and laughter to everyone he encountered. He had a unique ability to see the world through a lens of positivity. Making every moment brighter for those fortunate enough to be in his company.
