Lavina was born on the family farm in the town of Albany, Pepin County, Wisconsin.
Lavina enjoyed fishing with her family and picking wildflowers, especially lady slippers. She also loved the cardinal as her favorite songbird and the color red.
Lavina married Lester H. Olson on June 2, 1948, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Mondovi, Wisconsin.
Lavina and Lester raised ten children together.
Lavina was known for her cooking skills and was always looking for new recipes to try. Her homemade dill pickles were a family favorite, and she once canned 100 quart jars of them.
Lavina was a faithful Catholic and an active charter member in various church activities at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Eau Claire. She was a member of PCCW and belonged to the Ladies Aid groups, St. Martha and St. Agnes.
Lavina collected family history and had a great knowledge of how her family was related to others. She was always happy to share her knowledge with anyone who asked.
Lavina is survived by seven sons and three daughters, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Raymond, and other family members and friends.
We'll plant real trees for you in Lavina's memory and display your contribution forever.
