Laura Harris, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong resident of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025.

Laura was married to William Miller on February 10, 1972, and together they built a beautiful family and life full of love. She was a devoted mother to Wren Harris, Gabrielle Harris, Edwin Harris, William Miller Jr., and Dewan Miller. Her love extended to her grandchildren — Samaria Poe, Tameka Jackson, Wren Jackson, Edwin Harris Jr., Bobbie Harris, Nathan Harris, and Samuel Jackson — each of whom brought her endless joy and pride.

For 40 years, Laura worked as a cafeteria worker at Central High School, where she retired after decades of serving not just meals, but kindness, care, and her unforgettable smile to generations of students and staff.

She was the most loving person you could have ever met — known for her warmth, generosity, and the way she made everyone feel like family. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
