We honor the life of Lashawn Darnell Martin, a beloved husband , father, son, brother and friend. Lashawn, affectionately known as " Boobie" , " Shoey" or simply "Shawn" was born on May 3, 1984, to Craig Martin ( Cleveland Ohio) and Patricia A Thomas ( Jacksonville Florida) in Cleveland Ohio. On December 10, 2025 Lashawn's life was taken, tragically and unexpectedly, leaving unanswered questions to many broken hearts. Though short, his 41 years were vibrant, exhilarating and a gift to many.

Lashawn attend John F Kennedy high school but later pursed his Electrician license. A big kid at heart, he stepped into fatherhood at just 18 years old and immediately took on the role of provider to his family. He worked diligently for companies such as Sherwood Food Distribution, Cleveland Hopkins Airport, Cargill Salt Mine and Mr. Electric until becoming a licensed contractor and business owner. Lashawn believed in his legacy and would not stop until he made one for his children. That was his priority.

To know Lashawn was to love him. He had an aura that would command the room. A smile that could brighten any day. A laugh that reached the souls of many. Known for his dashing personality and his superior sense of hygiene. Lashawn was sure to leave his mark any where that he went. He took pride of how he presented himself , inside and out. A man of high intelligence. Lashawn loved read and converse deeply on what he knew. You could bet after talking to him , you learned something new. Though deep and enigmatic, he was a jokester! He hilariously cited lines from movies and told the funniest jokes. Multifaceted, he could do and be whatever he set his mind to. He had a way of making people feel seen and loved. His impact will live on in the souls of those who loved him.

Lashawn memory will be cherished by his 3 children: Kierra Martin , Lenox Martin and soon to be joining the family Lashawn Martin Jr. His wife: Vanessa Martin. His grandmother: Ruby Martin. His siblings: Lavelle Martin, Ariel Cabbell- Mwenso and Marie Martin. And a family who loved him dearly including uncles , aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his beloved mother Patricia A Thomas and father Craig Martin.

Lashawn's life, though short was a testament to the impact that one individual can have on an a entire community. Rest in Power Lashawn , we will love you forever.
