Larissa graduated from South Galia High School where she was known for her pleasant smile and kindness.
She studied at the University of Rio Grande, Rio Grande Community College, and The Ohio State University.

Larissa Grace Jordan was born on September 29, 1986, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and unexpectedly passed away on December 26, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio. She was a beloved wife to Carl Slosser and a dedicated mother to her two sons, Edward Deane Sayre and George Granville Sayre.
Larissa graduated from South Gallia High School, where she was known for her warm smile and kindness. She studied at the University of Rio Grande, Rio Grande Community College, Columbus State Community College and The Ohio State University. Throughout her life, Larissa demonstrated an unwavering love for her family and friends, often referred to as a second mom by her younger siblings. She excelled in playing board games, solving puzzles, baking, and sharing her creations with loved ones who appreciated her culinary talents.
A passionate supporter of cancer research, Larissa participated in Pelotonia, where her commitment to community causes shone through. She volunteered at St. Mathias Church and was an assistant coach for the Horizon Science Academy softball team. Larissa was a devoted Buckeye fan and enjoyed watching her favorite TV show, Doctor Who. Music was an integral part of her life; one of her favorite songs was "Kryptonite" by 3 Doors Down, she cherished the comedic tunes of "Weird Al" Yankovic, and she was also a big fan of Green Day.
Larissa is survived by her parents, Jana Griffin and Jaime (Diane) Jordan, her siblings: Ana Jordan, Sharese Resendez (Alan Conwell), Tiera Resendez (Tim Hohenberger), Oyema Damé, Afra Damé, Serena Damé, Ronald Frempong, Aleesha Jordan, Arianna Jordan and her sons: Edward Sayre and George Sayre. Her loving spirit will be dearly missed by her family, including her cherished cats, Mango and Cal, as well as her friends and community members whose lives she touched with her kindness and creativity.
She will always be remembered for her ability to make everyone feel welcomed, loved, heard, and seen, truly embodying her motto: "Just keep swimming." A quote by Neil deGrasse Tyson that she favored was “We are a part of this universe; We are in this universe, perhaps more important than both of those facts, is that the universe is in us.” Larissa’s legacy of love, compassion, and creativity will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
The visitation is January 9 from 11am - 1pm; the funeral is at 1pm with burial following.
