Lamont James Triplett, affectionately known as "Mookie," was born on March 7, 1974, in St. Louis, Missouri, and passed away on December 29, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, known for his infectious humor and bright personality that could light up any room.
Lamont was a devoted family man, cherishing his three children: Laquita, Ramod, and Jauqwaun, as well as his five stepchildren and nine grandchildren, including Riley, Cameron, Israel, Imani, Nova Jr., Khaliah, Keshawn, and Sarai. His love for his kids and grandkids was unparalleled, and he took great pride in being a guiding presence in their lives.
In his personal life, Lamont found joy in cooking, cutting hair, and had a deep passion for basketball. An avid fan of R&B music and classic films like "Friday," he enjoyed sharing his interests with family and friends. He was also known for his intelligence and resourcefulness, having earned his GED, a food and sanitation license, and a tax preparer license.
Lamont was in a loving relationship with Goledia Esters, and his family and friends describe him as funny, smart, and compassionate. He had a unique ability to connect with others and was always there to lend a helping hand. He was proud to give his life to the Lord and was a faithful member of Compassion Word Ministries.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Triplett; his father, Dennis Curry; and his brother, Dennis Triplett. He is survived by his brothers Odell, Trey, and Tori, his sister Helen Tiffany Wiinter,Raymell Sherry , an two nieces Semaj Nicolette three nephews Joe Joeshawn John a loving God, mom, Judy, and a host of Auntie‘s uncles cousins friends and family
Lamont's favorite saying, "Man stop playing with me," reflects his playful spirit and zest for life. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to everyone around him and the lasting impact he made in their lives. Lamont James Triplett leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished forever.
