It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we remember Lachlan Thomas Barclay—known fondly to many as Lachie—who passed away far too soon. Lachie was a kind and uplifting soul whose quiet strength touched the hearts of all who knew him. He had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and valued, never asking for recognition but always showing up where it mattered. Brave, thoughtful, and full of warmth, he left behind a legacy of compassion and connection. A proud member of his school’s 1st XI soccer team, Lachie carried that same spirit of dedication into his work as an accountant and into his service to the community. Most weekends, he could be found volunteering with the St Vincent de Paul charity, offering his time and heart to those in need. His favourite motto, “Stay proud,” reflected how he lived—with quiet courage, loyalty, and a deep sense of integrity. Lachie is lovingly remembered by his girlfriend Indi, his sister, and his two brothers. He was a cherished son, sibling, teammate, and friend. His absence leaves a silence that words cannot fill, but his presence will echo in the stories, laughter, and love he left behind.
