Kwamena Opoku-Manu, affectionately known as Kwame, was born on May 6, 1998, in Minneapolis, MN, and passed away on September 19, 2024, in Lincoln, IL. He was a kind spirit whose life was marked by his generosity and an unwavering enthusiasm for the things he cherished.

A gifted software engineer at Ernst & Young, Kwamena was celebrated for his exceptional problem-solving skills and innovative approach to coding. Beyond his professional achievements, Kwamena was passionate about giving back; he volunteered his time to teach coding and technology skills to underprivileged youth in Ghana, helping to unlock their potential and inspire future generations.

He enjoyed playing basketball, cooking, and indulging in soccer, his love for food as well was evident in his appreciation for jollof rice, fresh Waakye, and Tilapia with pepper, savoring each and every meal with joy and gratitude towards the cook. Known for his infectious laughter, compassionate heart, and adventurous spirit, he was a source of strength and happiness for those around him.

He held a deep Christian faith, which guided his actions and inspired his motto: “leave the world better than you found it.” This belief was reflected in his acts of kindness and generosity, making him an irreplaceable presence in the lives he touched.

Kwamena is survived by his loving parents, Kwadwo and Abena Opoku-Manu, and his younger sister, Adwoa Opoku-Manu, who remember him as their pillar of strength and joy. His warmth, humor, and remarkable spirit will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held on October 11, 2024, at 126 S Logan St, Lincoln, IL 62656 , to celebrate the life of Kwamena Opoku-Manu, whose legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
