Kristin Sawdey-Llewellyn, lovingly known as Nana, passed away on June 28, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on December 16, 1957, in Iowa, she most recently resided in Madison, Ohio.
Kristin had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies. She found solace in reading, and nothing brought her more joy than watching thunderstorms roll in from her porch. But above all, her heart belonged to Lake Erie, her favorite place in the world.
When she wasn't engrossed in a book or admiring the lake's beauty, Kristin found comfort in watching her favorite TV shows, Judge Judy and true crime series. She had a knack for telling it like it is, a defining personality trait that mixed with her loving and caring nature made her a force to be reckoned with.
In her professional life, Kristin worked as a hairdresser, sharing her talents and making people feel their best. However, her true calling came in the form of family. She was happily married to Larry Llewellyn for 29 years, and together they built a beautiful life. Their love was a testament to dedication and commitment.
Kristin's commitment extended to her children: Renee Lyons, Eddy Lyons, Christina (Brian) Hall, Heather Rea, Tiffany Llewelyn, and Sara (John) Rappach. She adored her grandchildren, Hali Dunbar, Collin (Cheyenne) Phelps, Cassandra (Samuel) Hillyer, Gregory Phelps, Nicole Hall, Dylan Hall, Alex Llewellyn, Carmelo Rea, Olivia Rea, Grant Brecker, Tyler Brecker, and Evan Lyons. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Carson Ryder, Samuel Hillyer Jr., Douglas Hillyer, and Cloud Phelps.
Kristin will be deeply missed by her siblings, Eric Sawdey, Margit Sawdey, Tena Sawdey, and Matt Sawdey, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Douglas Sawdey, and her siblings Nile Sawdey, Garth Sawdey, Stuart Sawdey, and Gretchen Wheeler, along with her nieces and nephews Shannon Sawdey, Ian Foster, and Alson Sawdey.
Kristin's impact on the lives of others cannot be overstated. She had a selfless nature, always there for her family and willing to give the shirt off her back. Her unconditional love and unwavering support will be cherished forever.
In memory of Kristin Sawdey-Llewellyn, a private celebration of life service will be held for immediate family and friends at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Kristin's generous spirit and her battle against cancer.
We'll plant real trees for you in Kristin's memory and display your contribution forever.
