Obituary

Kraig Kikuo Kitagawa, beloved son, brother, father, and friend, passed away on May 13, 2024, at the age of 60 in Stockton, CA. He was born on September 20, 1963, in Stockton, CA, to his parents Kelly K. Kitagawa and JoAnn Gardea.

Kraig grew up in Stockton and attended Edison Sr. High School. After completing his education, he proudly served in the Air Force, excelling in computer programming. Kraig's dedication to his country was commendable.

Outside of his military career, Kraig held various jobs, including working at Red Lobster and Target. He approached each role with enthusiasm and a strong work ethic.

Kraig had a deep love for music, with Patti LaBelle, Luther Vandross, and Whitney Houston being some of his favorite artists. He found joy and solace in their melodies, which accompanied him through life's highs and lows.

In his leisure time, Kraig was an avid sports enthusiast. He passionately supported the SF 49ers and the GS Warriors, finding excitement in their victories and feeling their losses deeply. He also enjoyed the thrill of playing the slots, a hobby that brought him moments of excitement and relaxation.

Kraig had a special fur companion, Cooper, who brought him comfort and companionship throughout the years.

Kraig is preceded in death by Kelly K. Kitagawa (father), JoAnn Gardea (mother), Keith M. Kitagawa (brother) and Raeanna Maldonado (niece).

Kraig will be dearly missed by his family, including his stepfather Joseph Gardea, siblings Kim Kitagawa, Anna Krista Gardea, his son Jon Gull, Niece's Kiyomi Kitagawa, Keilani Kitagawa, Kelsi Kitagawa, Jamie Gardea, Feliciana Rubianes and Great Nephew's Armel J. Henderson and Camron J. Warren, Roland Bertulfo Jr., Raymond Mendoza Jr., Great Neice's Ailani and Ralaya Kuong, Nola Bertulfo, Alezandra, and Penelope Gardea.

To honor Kraig's wishes, there will be no funeral service. We invite you to please privately celebrate Kraig's memory in your own ways. We know that he will be with us all in spirit. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.

May his soul rest in peace, and his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all.
