Kevin Kent Morgan, affectionately known as "Bear," was born on March 1, 1952, in Humansville, Missouri, and passed away on November 15, 2024. He was raised in Bearcreek Mo, on his family’s farm. Kevin graduated from Stockton High School in 1970. As a young man he always helped his father on the farm and became an over the road truck driver. During his time as a truck driver he made many lasting friendships and was living the fast life in the biggest truck he could drive. Upon semi-retirement his dream to work the family farm became a reality. He missed having a “truck” to drive so settled for a dump truck carrying loads for different businesses around town.
Kevin had a profound love for his longhorn cattle and dedicated his life to farming, He had his longhorns on a strict diet of “cow candy” fed out of his hand. His commitment to his community was evident in his role as the President of the Lindley Prairie Cemetery and as a committee member with Cedar County Farm Service Agency. He also dedicated 40 years to bringing joy to children as Santa in Toys for Tots, a role he cherished deeply.
In his personal life, Kevin was married to Bobbie Y. Marshall on January 1, 2000. He often joked that marrying in the new millennium made it easy to remember their anniversary. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and warmth.
Kevin is survived by three sons: Carl Robert and his wife Gina, Joshua Bron and his wife Tiffany, and Barrett William and his wife Bailey. He also embraced two stepchildren, Shannon Hendrickson and Erin Hendrickson Ogden, along with her husband Trey. Kevin took immense pride in his six grandchildren: Arielle, Gabby, Bron, William Kent, Audrey, and Christofer, as well as three step-grandchildren: Evan, Novalee, and Olivia. He held special bonds between each niece and nephew, and all his great nieces and nephews.
A beloved brother, Kevin is survived by his sister Penny and her husband Pat Fraser. Born to Kent and Charlene (Young) Morgan, he shared a lifelong friendship with his sister, often teasing her as they grew up, but always protecting her fiercely.Proceeded in death by his parents Kent and Charlene Morgan and step-son Shannon Hendrickson.
Kevin was known for his jovial spirit, always a jokester with a grand laugh that brought joy to those around him. He was the type of person who would lend a hand to anyone in need, and his goal was to know and connect with everyone he met. His love for fast cars, motorcycles, and loud vehicles matched his larger-than-life personality.
Kevin made a lasting impact on the lives of all who knew him. Friends and family alike will remember him fondly for his tremendous heart and the countless “Kevin” stories that will continue to be shared. He loved deeply and will be profoundly missed by all.
We'll plant real trees for you in Kevin's memory and display your contribution forever.
