Kevin Duane Burns, born on January 24, 1958, in San Bernardino, California, passed away on October 12, 2024, in Salmon, Idaho. A cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Kevin dedicated his life to his family, who were his greatest pride and joy.

Kevin was a wild land firefighter, a profession that showcased his hardworking and independent spirit. He later retired from dispatch, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service. He was known for his silly personality, bringing joy and laughter to those around him.

In his free time, Kevin enjoyed hunting, playing poker, and taking his beloved dog, Hank, for long walks. He had a fondness for tacos, steak, potatoes, and asparagus, often sharing meals and laughter with family. His children, Amanda Darrah, Brandon Burns, and Stephanie Anderson, along with his grandchildren Nykell, Danielle, Brianna, Hunter, Travis, Conner, and Bentley, will remember him fondly, as will his great-grandson, Thomas.

Kevin was widowed by his beloved wife, Patricia Anne Burns, who passed away in 2020. He is survived by his mother, Allie Pilkerton, and siblings Curtis Burns, Tim Pilkerton and Sharon France.

His life was guided by the motto "Santa Maria," a reflection of his playful and spirited nature. Kevin's proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
