Kennedy Morris, lovingly known as Kenny, was born on January 23, 1961, in Nashville, NC, and passed away on November 9, 2024, in Raleigh, NC. A dedicated farmer, Kenny spent his life doing what he loved, cultivating the land and driving tractors, which brought him immense joy. He was an avid fisherman, often spending his days by the water while living in the country, casting lines and enjoying nature.
Kenny cherished grilling out and spending quality time with his family and friends, always ready with a cold drink in hand and a joke to share. His favorite treat was banana pudding, a dessert that brought smiles to him. Known for his humor and extensive vocabulary, Kenny had a unique ability to turn any moment into laughter, ensuring that there was never a dull moment in his presence. To know him was to love him. That's was our uncle Kenny.
Kenny proceeds in death by his special friend, Wanda (Wanda Gal) Speight, Oh boy! I know they chatting it up and probably cutting up as well. Two sons, Kenny Everette (Amber) and Maurice Antonio Everette (Melissa). He was a proud stepfather to Tawanda Richardson (Jermaine) and Tomeka Williams, and a beloved grandfather to nine grandchildren: Twanisha Battle, Milton Battle (RJ) his main man, Jamie Roberson, Destiny Williams, Haven and Haisley Everette, Shailah, Kephren, and Malazzah, as well as one great-granddaughter, Ke'miyah.
Kenny was the son of Odessa Strickland Morris and the late Larry Morris Jr. He is also survived by his sister, Linda T. Morris of Raleigh NC, Brothers; the late Tony Morris (Betty) of Springhope NC, Larry Morris (Annette) of Albany New York, Dennis Morris and Erwin Morris both of Raleigh NC. One surviving aunt, Rosa Lee Morris of Rocky Mount NC. Seven nieces and one nephew. He joined Rock Hill Baptist Church at an early age, his favorite saying was, “Cheerios" was his way of saying ‘See you later,’” reflects his optimistic spirit and love for life.
Kennedy Morris will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
