Keith Anthony Sykes, 63, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Keith was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a family oriented man and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Keith enjoyed hosting cook outs and was the grill master.
He loved to go out on his boat and spend time fishing. He was an avid Louisville Cardinals and Washington
Commanders fan. Keith was supportive of all of his family and friends. He proudly served his
country in the US Army. He enlisted in 1979 served overseas in Germany as a heavy wheel mechanic and earned several ribbons and medals. Upon his return home, Keith remained a highly skilled mechanic and worked for Tourmobile in Washington, D.C. He later returned to Louisville and continued his love of mechanics where he finished his career as the lead mechanic of Green Cab. Keith will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him and loving him.
He was born on March 14, 1960 in Louisville, Kentucky to Charles and Willa (Blakey) Sykes. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Sykes; and mother, Willa Sykes.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Rita Sykes; sons, Keith (Jessica Donaldson) Sykes, Jr., Charles Sykes, Sean Sykes; step-sons, Amaude Adams, Nathaniel (Alexandria) Ferrell; step-daughters, Timeeka (Jermaine Brooks) Adams-Brooks, Sha'Daryl Beard; sister, Tanzy Sykes; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1368 S 28th Street, Louisville, Kentucky. A celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.
