Kathy Lynn Saad, born on August 7, 1958, in Champaign, IL, passed away on June 17, 2024, in her beloved hometown. She was a cherished member of the community, known for her vibrant personality and unwavering positivity.
Kathy had many passions in life, including planting and gardening, which brought her immense joy. She adored spending time with her four-legged kids and could often be found enjoying her favorite game shows or meeting friends at her cherished spot, Pia's. Kathy was a proud employee of Insure Champaign, where she made a significant impact in her profession.
Luke Bryan's music resonated deeply with Kathy, and she found great pleasure in attending concerts and listening to his soulful melodies. However, nothing brought her more happiness than her children, Alex and Honey B, whom she loved dearly.
Kathy had a zest for life that took her to various places, with Louisiana being one of her most memorable destinations. She enjoyed cheering for the Illini Basketball team and the Chicago Cubs, and she always made time to catch her favorite TV shows on the Game Show Network.
Known affectionately as "Kathy with a K," she had a collection of favorite quotes and life mottos that showcased her spirited nature. "Hugs are free," she would say, and she had a knack for reminding everyone to seize the moment and find joy in every situation.
Kathy's proudest accomplishment was being a devoted dog mom to her beloved Alexandra and Honey B. She treasured their companionship and considered them family.
Having experienced the loss of her husband eight years ago, Kathy approached life with resilience and an indomitable spirit. She faced her battle with cancer with grace and determination, inspiring those around her with her unwavering bravery.
Kathy's infectious warmth and genuine kindness touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She had a remarkable ability to make anyone feel like a friend, lighting up any room she entered. Her impact on others was immeasurable, and her legacy of love and friendship will forever be cherished.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Saad. Her parents Llyod Manual, and Mable Bialeschki Hixson. Her sisters Dolores Hixson, Betty Dove, Mary McCoy, and Barbie Zehr, and her brothers Earl Hixson, and Carl Hixson.
Kathy Lynn Saad is survived by her dogs, Alexandra and Honey B, as well as her nephew Robert Hixson, niece-in-law Christine, great nieces Marisa and Brianna, great nephews Christopher, Matthew, and Joshua, cousins Christina, Laura, and Karen, and first cousins Kayla, Aaron, and Liana, her two sister-in-laws, Carrie Eizik and Julie Saad. As well as her two dearest friends that she considered sisters, Sara Dean and Donna Higgins. Countless other family members and friends also mourn her loss.
In honoring Kathy's memory, let us embrace her cheerful spirit and carry on her legacy of spreading love and friendship.
There will be a visitation held at Morgan's Memorial Home on June 28, 2024 from 2pm-6pm.
Service is from 2pm to 6pm
