Karen Yadao Guillermo, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 2, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born on March 22, 1946, in Lihue, HI, and most recently resided in Wailua Homesteads, HI.
Karen was a woman who cherished spending time with her family and friends above all else. She particularly enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events, creating treasured memories with them. She also had a fondness for visiting Las Vegas, where she experienced excitement and joy.
In her leisure time, Karen enjoyed watching Korean dramas, finding solace and entertainment in these captivating television shows. She also had a passion for UH Volleyball and took pleasure in following the team's games.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Apolinario Yadao and Ambrocia Salmasan Yadao, as well as her sisters Aurora Yadao, Soledad Pasion, Elenora Basuel, Esmenia Barba, Paula Cadawas, Felipa Manuel, Florentina Fedelizo, Gloria Acoba, and brothers James Yadao and Cisario Yadao. She is survived by her sister Veronica (Robert) Cook of Wailua Homesteads.
Karen leaves behind her loving children, Michelle (Tony) Rapozo of Kapaa, Renee (Randy) Spears of Wailua Homesteads, and Julie (Mark) Washington of Wailua Homesteads 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Their lives were enriched by her unconditional love and guidance.
Karen Yadao Guillermo will be deeply missed by all her loved ones, whose lives were touched by her kindness, love, and generosity. May she rest in eternal peace, forever cherished in their hearts.
