Kay had a passion for gardening and delighted in tending to her beautiful flower garden throughout the seasons. She took great joy in sharing the fruits of her labor, often gifting vegetables and fruits to fellow church members. Kay's green thumb extended to her love for nature, where she found solace in the outdoors.

Above all, Kay cherished spending time with her family, particularly her grandkids. She would often be found baking little cookies and treats with them, creating cherished memories. Her dedication to her faith led her to serve her community, spreading the love and teachings of Jesus. She held a special place in her heart for missions, particularly in Ecuador, where she answered God's call to serve on numerous occasions.

Kay achieved a Masters in Nursing and dedicated her professional career to caring for others. Her compassion and gentle touch left a lasting impact on those she served.

On May of 1965, Kay married her beloved husband, Bruce, at Fort Wayne Bible Church. They shared a deep bond and journeyed through life together, creating a lifetime of memories. Kay is survived by her husband, Bruce, her sister Janet, and her loving children, Diane, Marybelle, and Bruce Jr. She was the proudest grandmother of eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Kay's life motto was "God's purpose, God's plan." Her unwavering faith and commitment to serving others will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community.

A memorial service to celebrate Kay's life will be held on April 25 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to House for Hope - Ester’s House, as per Kay's wishes.
