June, started her working career when she was 12 years old at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Lackawanna NY. June’s journey was adorned with a remarkable talent as an excellent seamstress. While working at M Wile, she found the time to craft memorable outfits for her Family. She then relocated to Los Angeles in 1982, where she worked at Sears, Roebuck and Company until her retirement in 1993.
She married Melton (Robert Lee) Reese October 1, 1950. From this marriage seven children were born.
Mom also loved to bowl being a part of numerous leagues around Buffalo. Her legacy is a tapestry of creativity, dedication, and support which she always gave to her family and others throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Velma Crumble and Fay Smith, as well as brothers Kermit, Marvin, and Vernon Owens, daughter Debra Heinrich, son-in-law Bruce Syph, two great grandchildren: Amarianna Jackson and Elyza Rae Colon.
She is survived by her sister Eunice (Lester) Hubbard, brother Bernard Owens, two daughter-in-law’s: Patricia Reese and Alicia Malave, along with son-in-law Edwin Heinrich.
June’s legacy lives on through her six children: Beverly (Erwin) Smith, Kevin Reese, Lorna (Dwayne) Montgomery, Robin Reese-Syph, and Melton (Sharon) Reese, & Kimberly (John) Reese-Lapatzie.
Additionally, she leaves behind a large extended family, 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great grandchildren & (one on the way).
June dedicated her life to Jehovah symbolizing her baptism on September 25, 2005 in Rochester NY, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Last attending the Starin Congregation in Buffalo NY.
A trailblazer with an entrepreneurial spirit, she won a car and numerous trips, inspiring the same drive in her children. Together we traveled the USA attending many Enagic events
June Delores Reese, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on January 26, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on August 5, 1930, in Lackawanna, NY, June was the daughter of John and Mary Blount Owens. She spent much of her life in Buffalo, NY, where she recently resided.
June began her working career at a young age, starting at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Lackawanna, NY, when she was just 12 years old. She possessed a remarkable talent as an excellent seamstress and dedicated much of her time to crafting memorable outfits for her family while working at M Wile. In 1982, June relocated to Los Angeles, where she worked at Sears, Roebuck and Company until her retirement in 1993.
On October 1, 1950, June married Melton (Robert Lee) Reese. Together, they were blessed with seven children: Beverly (Erwin) Smith, Kevin Reese, Lorna (Dwayne) Montgomery, Robin Reese-Syph, Melton (Sharon) Reese, Kimberly (John) Reese-Lapatzie, and the late Debra Heinrich. June was a devoted wife and mother, always providing love, support, and a strong sense of family.
Outside of her work and family life, June enjoyed bowling and was an active participant in numerous leagues around Buffalo. She found joy in the camaraderie and friendly competition that bowling brought. June's legacy is one of creativity, dedication, and support, which she consistently offered to her family and others throughout her life.
June was preceded in death by her sisters Velma Crumble and Fay Smith, as well as her brothers Kermit, Marvin, and Vernon Owens. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Debra Heinrich, son-in-law Bruce Syph, and two great-grandchildren, Amarianna Jackson and Elyza Rae Colon.

The funeral service for June Delores Reese will be held at Alan R Core, located at 1933 Kensington Ave, Buffalo, NY 14215. The service will include cremation as per June's wishes.
June will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
