Julia Mae Simmons, affectionately known as "Taboo" and "Lady Boo," passed away on August 29, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on July 23, 1961, in Akron, Ohio, she spent her life in the same vibrant city that she cherished.
Julia had a profound love for God, which was evident in her dedication to her faith and her beloved church. Her favorite place in the world was Hills Temple First Born Church Inc., where she was an active member and found solace and community.
Julia's proudest accomplishments were her two daughters, Catherine Simmons and Joella husband Ray Brooks, who were her greatest joys. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James "AJ" Greer Jr Jonathan Russell, and Xavier Zuri Zaria and two great grandchildren Jayonn Russell Anastasia Greer, all of whom brought immense pride and's happiness to her life.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Bishop Kenny and Mother Catherine Simmons her grandson Kieondre Simmons Russell siblings David Simmons Mary Lucy Simmons Luvenia Simmons JoAnn Simmons Thrasher.
In addition to her daughters and Grands Julia is survived by siblings Betty Simmons John Burbage Elvira Simmons Bobby Linda Simmons, Kenny Jr Jennifer Simmons, and Benny Mac Simmons. Niece nephew’s cousin friends
Julia Mae Simmons will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her loving spirit, and her deep commitment to her family and community. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
