Julia Evelyn (Cooper) Petre, 85, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away March 20, 2025, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, Missouri.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home. 306 South 2nd Street. Odessa, Missouri 64076. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fitzgerald Cemetery in Chariton County at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2025. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to the family, in the care of Laura Osborn. Memories of Julia and condolences for her family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524.

Julia was born June 20, 1939, in Lagonda, Missouri to Ernest Lawrence and Emma Margaret (Cook) Cooper. Julia graduated high school from New Cambria High School in New Cambria, Missouri. Julia was joined in marriage to Denver Paul Petre, on July 23, 1966, in Camdenton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2008. Julia worked for Reich’s Mushroom in Odessa until they closed. She retired from Action Products after 20 plus years as a day shift supervisor. Julia was baptized and a member of United Brethren Church in Salisbury, Missouri. She enjoyed quilting, baking, cooking, and taking motorcycle trips with Denver to Texas and Mt. Rushmore, just to name a few. Most of all, Julia enjoyed spending time with her family.

Julia is survived by two children; Laura Osborn of Odessa, Missouri, and Paula Bindoo of Blue Springs, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Mathew) Birenbaum, Brody (Emily) Osborn, Alexandria Parker, Zackary Bindoo, Christopher Bindoo, Lance (Tia) Petre, Chelsea (Scott) Petre, and Heath Petre; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister; Nita Sue (Jerry) Joiner of Salisbury, Missouri and many relatives and friends.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son-in-law Charles Osborn and a grandchild, Kai Osborn
