Juilo Rene Abarzua, was born on February 22, 1935, in Temuco, Chile, passed away on December 17, 2024, in Las Vegas, NV. A devoted husband to Georganna for 62 years, Juilo was known affectionately by his family as Papi, Julius, and Julito. He was a proud father to Herbert, Julie, Rosie, and Christina, and a beloved grandfather to Bobby, Christopher, Eric, Matthew, Cecilia, Ashley, Angela, A.J., Ryan, and many more great-grandchildren.
Juilo's adventurous spirit led him to leave Chile at a young age, embarking on a journey with the Merchant Navy that instilled in him a sense of independence and courage. He became a skilled boxer during his time at sea and later transitioned to a successful career as a chef for over 40 years. Juilo's love for cooking was evident in his ability to whip up anything from delicious chili dogs to comforting apple pies, all while never turning down chocolate.
Beyond his culinary talents, Juilo took great joy in his hobbies. He loved swimming in the ocean, dancing, and going on trips with his wife and family. He was particularly fond of watching the World Series and enjoyed country music and the timeless tunes of Elvis Presley. Juilo's playful nature shone through in his love for classic TV shows like "Let's Make a Deal," "The Price is Right," and "I Love Lucy."
A dedicated family man, Juilo taught his grandchildren traditional dances, songs including "La Cucaracha" and "Los Pollitos," and cherished every moment spent with them. His determination and love for his family were reflected in his proudest accomplishments: sending his children to private school and nurturing a loving household filled with laughter and warmth.
Survived by his sister Alicia and his large family, Juilo's legacy of love and strength continues through those who knew him. He will be deeply missed for his vibrant personality, unwavering support for his family, and the many joyous memories he created throughout his life. Juilo Rene Abarzua will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who made a profound impact on all who crossed his path.
We'll plant real trees for you in Juilo's memory and display your contribution forever.
