Judy Ann Rider, born on March 25, 1948, passed away on October 29, 2024, in Ville Platte, Louisiana. Judy dedicated much of her life to her work at Evangeline Downs, where she became a valued member of the community.
She is survived by her three children: Scott Rider, Jacob Rider (Ashley), and Robin Jenkins (Huey). Judy was a proud grandmother to Gabrielle Calais (Cameron), John Patrick Hoffeld, Kirstyn Aguillard (Caleb), Waylon Hoffeld, Alyse Rider, Claire Rider, Kylie Rider, Scout Jenkins, Cainan Rider, and Anne-Marie Jenkins. She also cherished her great-grandchild, Swayzi Calais.
Judy is survived by her siblings, Brenda Fontenot (Steve), Steve Verette (Julie), and Jerry, who will carry her memory in their hearts.
She is proceeded by the death of her loving husband, Bobby Rider and her parents Joseph “Joe” and Versie Verette.
She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought to those around her.
