Judith Ann Stephen, 69, transitioned into the caring hands of God peacefully in her home surrounded by loving family on October 20th, 2022. She was born in Washington, Louisiana, on February 28th, 1953, to Wilson & Mary Lene Stephens.
Judith grew up in Louisiana and attended Paul Laurence High School. After the passing of her Father, her Mother moved to San Francisco with her daughters. There, her eldest sister Rosa and brother-in-law Clarence helped get them settled and start anew. In the City, Judith graduated from Woodrow Wilson HIghschool, then attended Bryman Technical Medical School and worked at Davis Medical Center as a Medical Assistant/LVN but became a Phlebotomist for many years. While living in San Francisco, Judith met the love of her life, Leroy Jules, and they had two loving children, Michelle Roach & Cherrie Davis. Judith also shared in the love and care of Leroy’s children, Leimomi Jules, Leilani Valenzuela, and Leroy Jules Jr. It was in the city that she found a love of fishing with Leroy, their kids, family, and friends.
Judith and Leroy moved to Las Vegas in 1996, where they continued caring for family and friends, welcoming more grandchildren one by one with open arms and lots of love. She loved singing, listening to music, watching movies, sewing, cooking, and of course, she loved going to church. She was a proud member of Covenant Christian Fellowship Church.
After Leroy’s death, Judith moved to San Diego, where she was able to help raise more grandkids, enjoy the beach, put her pretty toes in the sand, and gaze in the sky. She really loved peaceful boat rides on Michael and Kathy Roachs’ boats even though she could not swim. Judith was somewhat of a nomad for a while, traveling to and wherever she was needed. Her trips included visiting Alaska to help with great-grandkids and visiting Louisiana, Nevada, and Northern California to visit family and friends. We all needed and wanted her with us. Unfortunately, she could not be everywhere at once, so we had to share her. Now she is everywhere!
Judith was loved by her Daughters, Michelle Roach and Cherrie Davis; Sisters, Rosa Phillips/*Clarence, Margaret Evans/David, Delores Sam/ Curtis, Mary Stephens & Carolyn Stephens; Grandchildren, Lance Smith, Terran Madu-Jules/Megan, Jules Delude/Lucy, Evan Pierce, Kalil Smith, Tyree Smith, Ines DeLude, Riley Roach, Gavin Roach, Myles Davis, Maysa Davis, Fydelena DeLude, Ky and Ty Adeseye; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and family.
Judith is LOVE, pure LOVE.
We will all miss her physical presence, but she is now with our Heavenly Father. She is enjoying the presence of the Love of her life Leroy “Doll,” and all of our family and friends that reside in Heaven with her. Her spiritual presence and joy will continue to be felt for all our days.
