Joyce K. Netherton (Tomczak) was born on July 20, 1943, to Edward and Patricia Tomczak at South Shore Hospital in Chicago, IL. As the youngest of three siblings, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 58 years LeRoy, and daughters Tammy Sue and Jillian Lee. Joyce leaves behind six daughters; Lorraine Ann McConnell (Donald), Samantha Marie Johnson (Terry) of Madison ,TN, Amanda Marcum (Owen) of London, KY,  Melissa Lynn McCampbell (Stephen), and one son, Roy Scott. Joyce previously co-owned What's Cookin' Restaurant in Whiting , IN with her family from 1990-1998. Following her retirement, Joyce devoted herself to her grandchildren, Stevie, Max, Michaela, Victoria, Madison, Colton, Abigail, and Sophia Grace. After the loss of her husband in September 2002, Joyce's health declined due to being diagnosed with both lung cancer and COPD. Joyce fought a good fight and lived everyday as if it were her last. Joyce passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago, IN.

Visitation will be held on Sunday October 20, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 6:30 PM and again on Monday, October  21, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home 11200 So. Ewing Ave. Chicago,IL 60617. 

Funeral Services will begin promptly on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 12:00 Noon with Rev. R. Janae Pitts-Murdock officiating. Interment immediately after at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL.
