Joyce F. Landry, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 31, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on July 5, 1936, in Springfield, MA, Joyce lived a vibrant and fulfilling life.
Joyce resided most recently in Peaks Island, Portland, ME, where she found solace and happiness. Known for her creativity, Joyce's favorite hobbies included knitting, crafts, and jewelry making. She was also an accomplished pastel artist. She found joy in creating beautiful pieces that brought happiness to those around her.
An interesting fact about Joyce was her determination to get back into a regular working schedule. She took a class that reinvigorated her professional life and allowed her to embrace new challenges.
However, Joyce's ultimate source of fulfillment came from being a devoted mother to her two children and a loving grandmother to her grandson, Daniel. She cherished the time spent with her family and was a constant source of love and support.
Peaks Island held a special place in Joyce's heart, but she also enjoyed visiting friends and family along the East Coast. Her adventurous spirit and warm personality made her a beloved presence wherever she went.
In her leisure time, Joyce enjoyed tending her flower and vegtable gardens, watching football games, even indulging in the excitement of car races on Sundays.
Professionally, Joyce worked as a secretary for her husband, who was in sales. She dedicated ten years of her career to UBS/Paine Webber, where she displayed her exceptional organizational skills. Joyce also worked at Take a Peak, a boutique on Peaks Island, where she shared her passion for fashion and style.
Joyce is predeceased by her husband of 51 years R Paul Landry, her sisters Agnes White and Karen Brauns.
Joyce is survived by her sons Paul landry,Greg landry and her grandson Daniel landry. Several neices and nephews. Neighbors and friends and also Her best friend of over fifty years, Estelle Whitton, who stood by her side through thick and thin.
Joyce F. Landry will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kind heart, creativity, and unwavering love for her family will forever be remembered as the essence of her beautiful soul.
A memorial gathering will be held July 20, 2024 at 1:00 p m.
