Joshua grew up with his three siblings in Houston, Texas. He was a member of Greater Community M. B. C. Baptized at the age of eleven years old by Rev. John Henry McAdams in a bathtub. In his sophomore year of high school in Houston, Joshua moved to Plaucheville, La. to lived with his maternal grandmother, the late Mrs. Olla Mae Matthews. He graduated from Plaucheville High School when it was a high school.Immediately after graduation he chose to join the United States Army. Requested re-baptism on 4/25/2025 & rededicated his life to Christ. During his last stay in Cottonport he often worshiped at Jerusalem M. B. C. Rev.C. I. Augustine, Pastor. At the time of his passing he ministered to incarcerated individual as well as those in recovery.
