Joshua David Soper, lovingly known as Papa Josh or Joshy, was born on February 3, 1982, in Estherville, Iowa. He peacefully passed away on August 4, 2024, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Joshua had a zest for life and enjoyed socializing with everyone he met. His infectious laughter and warm smile lit up the room, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. He cherished spending time with his family and was especially devoted to his daughter, Madelynn Alford. Joshua was a proud father and adored his three grandsons, Elijah, Oliver, and Isaiah.
In his free time, Joshua indulged in various hobbies, including sports, reading, and cooking. He loved preparing corn casserole and relished the combination of BBQ sauce with ranch. Joshua had a deep appreciation for music and found solace in the sounds of Tool, Pod, and Shinedown. He was often seen playing his favorite musical instrument, the trumpet.
Joshua attended Lakin High School and later pursued a career as a chef. His culinary skills were admired by many, and he took great pride in his achievements in the kitchen. Joshua's passion for food was matched only by his love for an ice-cold beer.
With a heart of gold and a selfless nature, Joshua touched the lives of many. He was a role model, a son, a brother, a father, and a best friend. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Joshua is survived by his mother, Ann Jacobs, his father, Michael Jacobs, and his siblings Amanda Soper, Jake Soper, Kyle Jacobs, and Kayte Jacobs. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
We'll plant real trees for you in Joshua's memory and display your contribution forever.
