Jose had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He loved to smoke his tobacco and enjoyed long walks, often taking time to reflect and savor the world around him. His favorite foods included tamales, which he relished sharing with loved ones. Music was also a significant part of Jose's life, with the band Maná holding a special place in his heart.

Above all, Jose cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Leticia Godinez, Alejandro Godinez, and Analisa Godinez, who will forever remember the warmth of his love and the lessons he imparted. Jose also leaves behind beloved family members, including Jessica Ardaugh, Melissa Hernandez, Alejandra Hernandez, Beatriz Zegar, Juan Hernandez, Analisa Godinez, and Angelina Godinez.
