Johnny Ray Kinsey Sr., affectionately known as "Hatchet Man," passed away on November 9, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born on June 10, 1950, in Columbia, South Carolina, and most recently resided in Gaston, South Carolina.
Johnny dedicated his career to the field of industrial electricity, starting at Carolina Eastman in the 1970s, where he made a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industry. He was a devoted family man, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. He married his beloved wife, Betty Kinsey, in 1969, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter.
Johnny is survived by his wife Betty, three children: Monica (Wes) Earwood, Johnny Kinsey Jr., and Heather (Walter) Rish, as well as 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by three sisters and his entire extended family.
An avid checkers player and golf enthusiast, Johnny loved spending his leisure time playing games and cheering on the Gamecocks. His warmth, humor, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
