She attended East Tech High School and earned her Masters Degree in Social work from Cleveland State University. Johnetta worked at various Nonprofit organizations. She helped thousands of people overcome drug, alcohol and mental health issues. Known to most as Candy, she was as bold, beautiful, astonishing and surprising as a fire cracker!
Johnetta accepted Christ at a young age. As a Seventh Day Adventist she served as a youth choir director at South East, Temple Of Praise (Chior Director), and Glenville Seventh Day Adventist Church. She also served as a choir director with the Cleveland Choral Chapter.
Candy passed peacefully, Tuesday January 31, 2023 at 6:20pm at Regency Hospital.
Her memory will be cherished by her siblings Jerome C. Ash Sr. and James Walter Ash Jr. Her son James R. Ash and daughter, Ladrhesa A. Ash. Candy’s grandchildren, Dayshawnda S. Ash, Elijah Dublin, Josh D. Ash, and Al’Lonna A. Taylor. As well as her great grandchild she adore Ash’nae D. Love. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
