John was a force — warm, driven, fun-loving, and fiercely loyal. He had a gift for spotting talent in unexpected places and for seeing people exactly as they were. His dry sense of humor, big heart, and servant leadership left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.

He loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends, soaking up lake life, and mentoring others along their journeys.

John is survived by; his children, Jill Sterling, Todd White, and James White; his grandchildren, Caitlyn Peterson, Stephanie Mann, and Wilder White. He had several great grandchildren, great grandchildren. and his loyal dog, Bailey. He is also survived by his brothers, Larry White and was preceded in death by his lovely Wife Mary White.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., with a service following at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 1st, 2025 at Sardis Methodist Church in Gaffney, SC.

Though John was widely admired for his many professional achievements, his greatest legacy is the enduring connections he created — a testament to a life well-lived.
