Obituary

It is with deep love and remembrance that we announce the passing of John Ray Edmonds, who departed this life from natural causes.

Born and raised in New York, John carried the strength, resilience, and unmistakable spirit of his hometown with him throughout his life. In 2000, he made a bold and purposeful move to Atlanta, Georgia, determined to build new opportunities and a lasting legacy for himself and his family. That decision marked the beginning of an extraordinary chapter defined by growth, achievement, and impact.

John pursued higher education at Georgia Institute of Technology ,where he earned his degree in engineering. His time there reflected the very qualities that defined him—discipline, intelligence, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. He took great pride in his education and the doors it opened for him.

Professionally, John built a respected career with PODS , where he served as a General Manager. In that role, he was known as a steady leader, a problem-solver, and a mentor to many. His work ethic was unmatched, and he approached every responsibility with integrity and purpose. John believed in leading by example, and those who worked alongside him admired his fairness, strength, and calm guidance.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, John’s greatest pride and deepest joy were his children: Javion Edmonds, Khiry Griffin, and Kyra Edmonds. He was a devoted and loving father whose guidance, protection, and encouragement shaped their lives. He celebrated their achievements, supported their dreams, and stood as their constant foundation. His love for them was immeasurable and unwavering.

John will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, deep wisdom, and genuine kindness. He had a presence that brought reassurance to others—a steady voice in difficult moments and a generous heart in times of need. Whether as a father, leader, friend, or mentor, he left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

His legacy lives on through his children, his family, and the many lives he touched along his journey from New York to Atlanta. Though he is no longer with us in body, his values, lessons, and love remain forever woven into the hearts of those he leaves behind.

John R. Edmonds will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
