John Michael Olver, affectionately known as Mike, Mikey, Texas Mike, and Johnny, was born on March 20, 1974, in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He passed away unexpectedly on November 7, 2024.
Mike was a selfless and devoted family man who cherished his loved ones. He leaves behind his wife Jenny, whom he regarded as his other half, as well as his daughters, Brianna and Falon, and his step daughters, Jaime and Lisa, with whom he spoke about constantly with overwhelming pride. His three beloved grandchildren, Emilia, Maci, and Bobby, will carry on his memory for years to come.
Mike dedicated his career to being the world's best valve guy, earning respect as a valve technician and machinist. He was praised by colleagues and made a significant impact in his field both professionally and personally. He built friendships that turned into brotherhoods with the men on his jobs over the past 25 years in the industry.
An avid lover of life, Mike enjoyed spending time fishing, cooking, and traveling anywhere with a body of water and with a continuous determination to perfect his famous ribs. He was known for his wealth of car knowledge and mechanic skills and could often be found spending the majority of his spare time in his garage. Mike also had a soft spot for his pets, Jasper, Tiger and Teddy, who spent many hours curled in his lap.
Mike had a unique ability to leave everyone around him with a smile. His infectious personality and willingness to help others made a lasting impression on all who knew him. He had a knack for brightening the days of those in his life, often leaving them with his favorite saying, "I love you more than an ice cold Corona." A passionate sports fan, he was a loyal supporter of the New York Giants and enjoyed listening to the Joe Rogan Podcast.
Mike will be remembered not just for his accomplishments but for his kind heart and the love he shared with those around him. Mike is preceded in death by his brother, James Munson. In addition to his wife and daughters, He is survived by his mother Debra Mazzillo and step father, James Mazzillo (Pops) along with his siblings Misty Casterline, Falon Pagliocca , Christopher Pagliocca, and Vincent Pagliocca who will continue to carry forward the legacy of love and warmth he instilled in their lives. Mike’s memory will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family and friends.
