Joined United States Army Aviation as a Second Lieutenant and completed flight training at Ft. Rucker, Alabama in 1957
Worked as a stockbroker at Dittmar and Company
Member of Order of the Alamo, San Antonio German Club, and San Antonio Airport Rotary Club
Helped found the River Parade´s ¨Veterans Program¨
Preceded in death by wife Carola Joseph Gaddis, parents John Marshall Gaddis and Sarah Edelene Gaddis, sister Jean Gaddis Keating, and former wife Ann Hubbard Gaddis. Survived by daughters Laura Burleson Gaddis and Paula Weir Gaddis Pulley, and other family members
Private interment at Gaddis cemetery in Comfort, Texas at a later date
