John Kevin Kirkland was born March 3, 1961 At Herman Kiefer hospital, to Zor and Mary Kirkland in Detroit, Michigan

John accepted Christ at a early age and was baptized at Calvary Baptist church.

John was very passionate about sports. He played little league baseball and was a standout in jv football at Pershing High school.

John graduated from Aero Mechanics High school,John also attend Wayne county community College, and completed several technical training programs.

Proceeding him in death was his birth parents Zor and Mary Kirkland, His sisters, Sandra and, Lavern (Denny) Kirkland and brother Gregory kirkland.

John was blessed to be nurtured, cared for, and loved by the Estes family who also preceded him in death; Roger and Mamie Estes,(Dad and Mom) three brothers William, Lee, and Harold Estes, Cousin Earl and Cousin Jean Johnson.

John leaves to cherish his precious memories; daughters Sara (Kirkland) Kectum (Atlanta, GA) and Mary Kirkland( Laurel Maryland ),His twin brother James Kirkland, Sister Patricia (Pat) and brother Steven (Steve) Nelson, Nephew's Walter, Mark, Roderick and Jamel, Niece's Deedee and Nikki.

Also his Orleans street family , Earl (chastity Precious) Timothy( Lane) and Dawn Johnson. Ricky and Ronnie Parham ,Mark and Brian Woodson,Humphrey II and Cindy Sangster (Humphrey III and Mario) .

A special thank you Lola (Gonnie) Walker for all your love and support to John.

A million times we will miss you

A million times we will cry.

If love alone could have saved you

You would have never died

In life we'd love you dearly.

In death, we love you still.

In our hearts you hold a place

That no one else can feel

It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone

A part of us went with you the day God called you home.
