His family
Having long been known as a nap connoisseur, John “Jack” Edward Scheuermann has finally mastered the art of the perfect nap, no sleeping on his deaf ear required. He peacefully transitioned to a permanent one on November 3, 2024, with the woman he always promised to keep for just one more day, which actually turned into keeping her for 16,375 days, at his side. The love he had for his wife Jacquelyn Helm was endless so in his last months his promise changed to keeping her for one more day plus eternity.
He was a wonderful father and raised two very intelligent tushies: Ellen Scheuermann and Marguerite Gould. He was proud when he offloaded the high maintenance one to Justin Gould. He beamed with pride when he became a Pop, and had such love for his grandchildren Anthony, Anastatia, Vincent, Olivia, and Frederick.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters Joan, Marie, and Anne. He is survived by his brother Charles Scheuermann, and many nieces and nephews who loved him just as dearly as he loved them. There will be a celebration of life open house on January 11th, 2024 from 2-6pm at his home, 700 E St SE, Washington, DC.
In lieu of flowers, we would welcome donations in his name to two things that were dear to his heart, The Autism Society of America and DC Bar Foundation
We'll plant real trees for you in John's memory and display your contribution forever.
