John E. Givens, Sr. was 40 of Greenwood MS, passed away suddenly, on Sunday, March 30th 2025. Born in Greenwood , son of Sammie Givens sr and Vera (Dudley) Givens, John was raised in Greenwood and graduated Greenwood High School, John owned Gateway Wine & Liquor in Greenwood. John was an outgoing and gregarious man, and loved to work. He was also loved and admired by his children and developed friendships with members of the community. John leaves his wife, Michelle C.H. Givens, of Greenwood; his children - John E. Givens, Jr., Ian A. Givens, and Storm S. Givens; and his siblings - Kimberly Henry (and her husband, Lloyd), Lambert Givens (and his wife, Juliette), and his two other brothers, Sammie Givens JR and Jonathan Givens. John also leaves many nieces and nephews. John’s family will receive guests on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, At century funeral home.
