John Dale Amburgey, 70, of Niles, Ohio, passed away at 2:21 P.M. on Monday, October 7, 2024, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Warren, Ohio.

Born on September 7, 1954, John lived a life filled with love for his family, music, and service to his community.

John is survived by his four children: Johnny (Alexandria) Amburgey, James (Danielle) Amburgey, Sheri (Michael Rhodes) Amburgey, and Marquis (Boyce) Gantz (Amburgey). He is also survived by his brother, Robert Amburgey, and his sisters, Diane Noble (Amburgey) and Brenda (Bre) Amburgey.

He was a loving grandfather to John Michael Amburgey, Brandon Amburgey, Auriella Amburgey, Michael Rhodes, Matthew Rhodes, Marcus Rhodes, Sean Rhodes, Ava Court, and Zeik Gantz. John was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Everly Rhodes, Casey Amburgey, and Arlo Amburgey.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Dee Amburgey and Helen Kurchmar, his son, Michael Amburgey and his sisters, Linda Murray, Marilyn Deal.

A passionate music lover, John enjoyed rock and roll, with The Beatles being his favorite band. He attended numerous concerts throughout his life including The Rockfest, a local yearly concert. He was a die hard fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State. One of his greatest joys was cooking for his family and he was known to throw caution to the wind!

John served his country in the Army from 1972-1974 before being discharged. He spent his life as a member of the Niles Army Navy 244. He also dedicated many years to serving as a local lifeguard in his hometown of Niles, Ohio, contributing to the safety and well-being of his community.

John Dale Amburgey will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His love for music, dedication to his family, and service to his community will be remembered fondly by all whose lives he touched.
