Going to Royals games
John Christopher (Chris) Wood, 61, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on July 21, 2024. He was born on July 14, 1963, in Kansas City, Missouri, to John and Dorothy Wood. John was lovingly known as Chris by his friends and family.
Chris was a dedicated Retail Manager, and his statistical mind made him excel in his profession. However, his true passion lay in watching and playing baseball. Nothing brought him more joy than going to Royals games and cheering for his favorite team.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Wood, who stood by his side throughout their journey. He was a proud father to his children: Ryan and Kerri Wood of Billings, Montana; Zachary and Cary Wood of Bozeman, Montana; Michelle Hrabik and her husband, AJ, of Omaha, Nebraska; Kendall Wood and Jason Wood of Omaha, Nebraska. Chris adored his grandchildren, John and Jaxon, and they brought immense happiness to his life.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Chris is also survived by his parents, John and Dorothy Wood of Harrisonville, Missouri, and his siblings: Kathy and George Riddle of Harrisonville, Missouri; Michael and Darsetta Wood of Blue Springs, Missouri.
Chris will be remembered for his keen statistical mind and his genuine love for Baseball and Bowling. His presence will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the National Kidney Foundation, a cause close to Chris's heart.
A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Chris's life and honor his memory.
We'll plant real trees for you in John (Chris)'s memory and display your contribution forever.
