John Andrew Mihalík Jr, born on July 26, 1956, in Manistee, MI, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, in Grand Rapids, MI. He was the son of John A. Mihalik Sr. and Jeneane J. (Townsend) Mihalik, and he is survived by his beloved siblings, Julie, Brenda, Steve, and Ryan. And his son Bryce and grandson Desmond Oak Mihalik.
John was a man of many interests and talents. He had a passion for collecting old books and oriental rugs, as well as refinishing antiques. His love for reading made him a walking encyclopedia, and he particularly enjoyed a good cup of coffee, always preferring it black. John was also known for his exceptional mathematical skills, a gift he inherited from his mother, and he was an inventor of a particular type of precision multi dimensional honing stone triangular.
A proud father, John cherished his son, Bryce A. Mihalik, and took great pride in being his dad. He graduated from Owosso High School in 1975 and had a fulfilling career as a Ceramic Engineer before working for the Department of Natural Resources as a heavy equipment operator, a role he truly enjoyed.
John was a lifelong Jehovah's Witness and found comfort in his faith, believing firmly in the Bible and the promise of resurrection. He often expressed that he would "be back." His love for Ludington remained strong throughout his life, where he enjoyed family vacations, hiking, camping, and the local House of Flavors ice cream.
An avid music lover, John had a special affinity for classical music, and while he didn’t watch much television, he kept up with the news. He was known for his conversational skills and could engage with anyone, making him a beloved presence in any gathering.
John will be remembered for his warmth, intellect, and love for family and friends. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed. John will rest at Corfu cemetery along with his Mother and Father and generation's of family in Brethren, Michigan .
