John Latona died alone in his home in Amboy, Illinois. His housemates found him on the floor, unresponsive. He is survived by his retarded wife, and two daughters; Sheila Latona as he fondly called his Gypsy, the other one, and all six of his siblings; Joe, Jeff, Jim. Justin, Rosemary, and Angie. And many nieces and nephews

John didn't live a good life. He was an alcoholic and drug user for all his years aside from his young childhood. He was extremely abusive to his late ex wife Kathy, and both of their children. He wasn't known for anything significant in his life other than being an alcoholic serving 26 years in the IDOC.

John was incarcerated in 1980 for murdering an 11 month old little girl. He was subsequently detained for solicitation of murder in 1989, on his daughter Sheila and her (then) boyfriend. Upon his release, John was gainfully employed and was doing well in life. He reconnected with his siblings, and his daughters. And more recently John was under criminal investigation by the state of Florida for committing fraud.

He was incapable of remaining faithful to two women, prior to his marriage in 2020. However, there were several witnesses who observed him being verbally and physically abusive to his current spouse.

John was unable to remain employed long term at any gainful employment as he was terminated for stealing, watching porn, and sleeping on the job.

His passing is an incredible relief for most people who knew him. He was a very toxic person that wreaked havoc with every single relationship. He got what he deserved in the end. Well played Karma. Well played.
